As Head Teacher it gives me great pleasure to introduce Wistaston Church Lane Primary School. The school opened in September 2007 following the amalgamation of two highly successful schools, Wistaston Westfield Infant School and Wistaston Junior School. In addition, our campus is shared with an outstanding privately run pre-school called ‘La Maternelle’. Each year we expect to educate 420 children between the ages of 4-11 years whilst a further 100 pupils attend La Maternelle.

Our school is located in Cheshire between Crewe and Nantwich. We have a large green campus that includes a huge playing field, extensive outdoor play apparatus, a wildlife coppice, areas for quiet reflection and access to adjacent cricket pitches and tennis courts. The grounds are continually being developed and an outdoor classroom will be created later this year.

The classrooms are situated in two buildings, linked by a covered walkway. Our indoor facilities include 14 light airy classrooms, a multimedia suite, two halls, a children’s kitchen, a pupils’ library and three reading recovery rooms.

At Wistaston Church Lane, our main aim is to provide a rich and exciting curriculum within a caring and challenging environment in which all children thrive and develop intellectually, socially, morally and physically. From Reception through to the end of Year Six, the school motto, ‘Learning, Succeeding and Growing Together’, is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that children must feel happy and secure at school in order for them to thrive and learn effectively.

Parental involvement and equality of opportunity for all children, including those with special educational needs, are of the utmost importance. There is a high level of adult support throughout the school for those who need it, but all children are encouraged towards becoming independent learners during their time with us. In addition, every opportunity is given for pupils to take up positions of responsibility as they move up the school.
We have well established links with the local community and a hard working, very dedicated governing body. Above all we have children who enjoy learning and working alongside each other. This year we have set ourselves some challenging targets, which with the help of supportive parents, enthusiastic children and consistency of our teaching we will meet.

We hope you enjoy using our website which is designed to give you a taste of what our school is all about. Furthermore, you are very welcome to visit the school to see the staff and the children and to ask any questions you might have. Please telephone for an appointment.

Thank you.
